The work planned for Margaret Island takes its inspiration from Ovid’s Metamorphoses. In twenty-five raised beds, porcelain figurines of nightingales and barn swallows are dispersed among the flowers. Painting the porcelains was conceived by the artists as a collective activity, involving new participants in the process of evocation and commemoration.
